A little relief and happiness

The Ability Organisation aims to provide a little relief and joy to hospice and hospital patients. We arrange free film and audio visual entertainment to children and adults. The projectors, screens, and audio equipment is supplied by The Projector Hire Company which is based in Berkshire, 25 miles west of London. The directors, David Brown and Clare Aitkenhead set up this charity in order to put a little back  into the community and provide an hour or two of entertainment to those who cannot provide it for themselves.

When someone is terminally ill or need long term care, the burden on family and friends can be enormous. Often the financial cost of visiting relatives in hospitals or hospices can be crippling. We are looking for volunteer drivers willing to donate a few hours of their time to take close members of the patients family to and from the hospice or hospital. If you can spare some time to help people in need why not register as a volunteer by clicking on the link above. You will not be committed to anything you don't want and often we can reimburse your fuel costs.

Donations to our charity is greatly appreciated. All donations will be used directly to cover expenses such as fuel costs and accountancy fees. Unlike other charities we are all volunteers therefore your donation will not be spent on things like salaries and company cars. We will also not waste your donations on advertising or expensive fund raising campaigns with give away pens, badges, hats etc.
